Ni-ZrO 2 interface was considered active for the CO 2 methanation reaction. Fe addition up to a small amount could increase the methanation performance. Via high Fe/Ni ratios, the formed Ni-FeO x interface was selective for CO, due to the weak binding of intermediate *CO species.
