About this deal

When people mow their lawns, the grass is typically collected in a grass box or a grass bag attached to the lawnmower. This can then be emptied into a recycling bin, or put onto a compost heap to make compost. This Mountfield model sells fairly well online and is a good choice for most garden sizes except larger gardens. Honestly, if you ask 1,000 people which is the best engine size for a mower, you will get a whole variety of answers. The better question to ask yourself is, "which engine is best for me?" Brand new, genuine Mountfield Replacement Recoil / Pull Start Assy which was also fitted to several .. If you have used the wrong oil in your mower, you will need to carry out an oil change. The oil change on any mower follows a similar process. Find out how to carry out a Mountfield lawn mower oil change here. Carburetor

About a month ago I bought a brand new Mountfield SP164 lawnmower, its worked fine for the first 3 mowings but today for some reason it will not run evenly. So it sounds like its revving up and down (brm brm brm....that sort of noise!) The carburetor in your Mountfield lawn mower is the component that mixes the gasoline and air in the engine to create a combustible solution that allows your mower to run.The SP164 has two mowing options for your grass cuttings, either collect to the aerated 40 litre grass bag, or remove the collector to eject the grass cuttings directly onto the lawn.

Sharp blades cleanly cut the grass. Dull blades roughly tears the grass which will quikly turn brown. If the lawn mower produces teared grass, then the blades should be sharpened or replaced. Do NOT use the lawn mower. The only option is to completely empty the tank and fill it with the right fuel. Self-propelled mowers are a much better option for larger gardens, or gardens with slopes. They use gears to drive the mower forwards and simply take less effort to use. They are slightly more difficult to control, but once you get used to the way they work, they are very simple to use. The best months for lawn mowing are March to October. Mowing should be done once or twice a week depending on how fast the grass grows. The best time of day to mow the grass is at the end of the afternoon and never in full sunlight. This is to prevent the grass from drying out after being cut. Hi, Dont know if anyone can help or suggest anything... I am not particularly mechanically minded so any advice would be very gratefuly received! The Mountfield brand are based in Maidenhead in Kent. They started off making rotary lawnmower in 1962, so they have been around since then. They are now based in Plymouth in the UK, and they make a range of gardening tools that include lawnmowers, tillers, blowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers and chainsaws. Brand new, Genuine Mountfield (GGP) replacement Blade Bolt / Washer Fixing Kit fitted to the following popular Lawnmowers:- Thanks for taking your time to read our review on the Mountfield SP164 Petrol Mower. This is a self propelled mower that is ideal for mowing the lawns on small to medium sized gardens. (20metres x 20metres) It has a tough and robust steel chassis which is built to last. For ease of storage the handles fold away which is always a good thing.

There are various mechanisms used to control that lever - sometimes the stiff wire link disappears in to the engine casing and is controlled from something internal, and other times it's from a curved 'flap' which sits close to the fan at the top of the engine - the faster the engine spins, the further the paddle (which is in the air flow) moves. As an example, my own rear garden is about 15 metres long and 7 metres in width. Multiply those 2 numbers together and you get 105 square metres. Then repeat that process for all your gardens and you will get an approximate square metre size. So as you can see, Mountfield appears on the list of manufacturers who make petrol mowers. Their mowers are powered by STIGA and Honda engines. The good news is they are easy to start and have been specifically designed to offer optimum speed for high performance.

Brand new, Genuine Mountfield OPC Cable / Engine Brake Cable which allows you to start and stop the engine. Suitable for the following models fitted with the RS100 Petrol Engine ONLY....... STIGA petrol engines are the power behind a whole range of machines – from lawn mowers and tractors to swift-to-start sweepers.

Like all mowers, Mountfield lawn mower blades will need replacing when required to ensure that a good quality cut is achieved.
